BinSentry announces launch of new Out-of-Feed Insights software

BinSentry, a company focused on increasing efficiencies and sustainability in the $500B global animal feed supply chain, announced today the launch of Out-of-Feed Insights, a new reporting dashboard that will help swine, poultry and feed mill operators and managers identify and eliminate out-of-feed events.

To reach peak productivity and potential, animals require a consistent supply of feed. Whenever animals are without feed, feed conversion rates and operational efficiency are directly impacted.

By monitoring over 20,000 feed bins across North America, BinSentry has discovered that
nearly 80% of out-of-feed events are being caused by feed bin slide management, while only 20% are due to empty bins.

“We’re seeing that, in most cases, there is feed on-site, but the manual slides aren’t being
opened,” says BinSentry CEO Ben Allen. “Until now, companies didn’t have any visibility into out-of-feed events caused by slide management, so there wasn’t a clear correlation between higher conversion rates and running out of feed.”

Out-of-Feed Insights uses advanced algorithms and AI technology to detect and identify out-offeed issues caused by both slide management and/or empty bins.

Users can track out-of-feed events over time and compare across farms. This provides a clearer picture of total out-of-feed hours as well as the main cause of out-of-feed events.

“Out-of-Feed Insights is a game-changing step forward for the BinSentry platform and feed
management,” says Allen. “Our customers can use Out-of-Feed Insights data to gain visibility into what’s happening in each of their barns, take meaningful steps to correct out-of-feed issues for good, and lower their feed conversion ratios.”
