The Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC) launched an updated website today to showcase made-in-Canada poultry research, share stories of how the research is advancing Canadian poultry production and provide details on research funding opportunities.

The revamped website at cp-rc.ca is fully searchable and combines all the Canadian research supported through CPRC, government and industry, including the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership cluster funding (2023-2028).

“For nearly 25 years, CPRC has filled a key role in coordinating Canadian poultry research funding throughout the entire sector to ensure the industry can continually adapt to new opportunities and pressures,” says Caroline Wilson, CPRC executive director. “Our updated website provides a key portal of timely information for researchers, producers and industry. We have expanded our communication materials with research stories and news to share research knowledge with the poultry value chain.”

Website content includes details on all research supported by CPRC organized by five research priority areas – antimicrobial stewardship, poultry health, poultry welfare, food safety and sustainability. To help make the research more relatable, there are stories on research results,  research fact sheets and scholarship information. The updated site is easier to navigate and users can search for content by researcher, research topic and segment of the poultry sector the research applies to – broilers, layers, breeders, turkeys, hatcheries and processors.

Over the last 24 years, CPRC has supported 175 poultry research projects with funding for more than 80 researchers at Canadian universities and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research centres to drive innovation, resiliency and competitiveness in Canada’s poultry industry.

“Our updated site showcases the wide range of applicable research we coordinate from stakeholders that directly supports research, education and technology transfer for a vibrant and healthy Canadian poultry sector,” says Wilson.

Since 2001, the Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC) has been creating research partnerships to support relevant research and build strategic partnerships that strengthen Canada’s poultry industry. With our founding members – Canadian Hatching Egg Producers, Chicken Farmers of Canada, Egg Farmers of Canada, Turkey Farmers of Canada, and Canadian Poultry & Egg Processors – we support research that’s rooted in strategic partnerships with government, industry and universities to deliver insights and innovation that matter most to the Canadian poultry industry.
