Conagra Brands Issues Recall for Canned Meat and Poultry Products

331

Conagra Brands has initiated a recall of several canned meat and poultry products distributed nationwide, including retailers in the Chippewa Valley area. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the announcement today, citing concerns over a packaging defect that could potentially lead to contamination without visible signs.

Affected products include various varieties of Vienna sausages, chicken Vienna sausages, and potted meat. Retailers stocking these items include Family Dollar, Dollar General, Holiday, HyVee, Walgreens, Walmart, and others. The products in question were manufactured between December 12, 2022, and January 13, 2023.

While there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or illnesses associated with the consumption of these products, the FSIS urges consumers to either discard them or return them to the point of purchase as a precautionary measure.
