Kraft Heinz Recalls Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Over Possible Listeria Contamination

A large recall has been issued by Kraft Heinz affecting turkey bacon products sold under its Oscar Mayer label after routine testing raised concerns about potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The announcement came late Monday from the Food Safety and Inspection Service, which is overseeing the situation.

The products involved were made at a company facility located in Newberry, South Carolina between April 24 and June 11, 2025. In total, approximately 367,812 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon are included in the recall after internal testing indicated the possible presence of the bacteria.

These items were distributed widely across retail stores throughout the United States, with a portion also shipped internationally to Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands. Despite the concern, there have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to the affected products so far.

All recalled items are sold as “Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original” and display the USDA inspection mark on the front. They are packaged in vacuum-sealed 12-ounce units and also appear in larger multi-pack formats. The affected products include individual 12-ounce packages marked with UPC 071871548601 and lot code RS40, carrying use-by dates between July 18 and August 2. Also included are 36-ounce packages containing three 12-ounce packs, labeled with UPC 071871548748 and lot codes RS19, RS40, or RS42, with use-by dates ranging from July 23 to September 4. Additionally, 48-ounce packages made up of four 12-ounce units, bearing UPC 071871548793 and the same lot codes, are part of the recall, with use-by dates spanning July 18 through September 4.

Consumers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them and should either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
